The newer version (2.0) is incrementally better than the first. After 3 weeks of repair work after trying to use Sync Center to manage files, I went back to SyncToy to sync files. I have found Sync Center to be the most FUBAR of all Msft the history of Windows. I realize Microsoft has gone face first into the "play station" market, ignoring completely that there are those of us who do not want to watch TV on a PC or use our computers soley for entertainment. The instructions I saw posted in response to your question result only in the ability to synch media files with a USB device using Media Center. In Msft's infinate wisdom, they do not have a simple way to synch files with, say a flash drive. For setting up a specific folder or file, you will have to share it first and then select the offline files setting. If you are choosing to sync offline files such as in the screenshot above, you will have to follow those instructions. You should receive some options for setting up your device as a sync partner along with how and when you want the syncs to occur. ![]() If you do not see your device, you may wish to switch it off and then on again and make sure that it is working. You should see a button above it with Set up written on it - click the button and you will be given options for synchronization. Once you see your device listed, select the devide by clicking on it. If you have mobile devices connected to the pc you should be able to see them listed in the window below. You will then see the window shown on the screenshot below. To set up a new sync partnership, click on the Set up new sync partnerships link on the left pane. Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium versions of Windows Vista do not come with the ability to sync with network folder.
